The 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games have been underway in Los Angeles this week. Founded by Eunice Kennedy Shriver in 1968, the Special Olympics is the world’s largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The film “Brave in the Attempt,” part of ESPN’s documentary series “30 for 30,” movingly tells the story of how the tenacious Shriver made competitive sports a reality, not for some, but for all.

Directed by Fritz Mitchell and executive produced by Maria Shriver, “Brave in the Attempt” is this week’s pick for Doc of the Week. Catch it here or check your local cable listings for air dates and times.
